Lyric Density is about how close together or far apart the words are over a given tempo. Many hit songs use the contrast of changing the lyric density in specific song sections. Changing the vocal phrasing in the lyric density allows contrast from verses leading to chorus, i.e,--
using short choppy phrases in the verse to the stretched-out words in the chorus. These density changes give listeners subconscious
cues to remember the lyric and meter.
